Open Source tool pages that have a variety of useful tools within them. We have reviewed the ones we have found the most useful in our investigations.
Malfrat’s OSINT Map
A good all-round OSINT tool hub. Lots of different links in a variety of categories eg, usernames, social media and search engines. The layout is not the most appealing and when expanding tabs it can get messy very quickly. The OSINT map is free to use but some of the links include services that are paid for. China OSINT specific tools limited but there are some that will help you when conducting investigations and research. This link will give you a more in-depth look at how this tool relates to China OSINT.

World Map of OSINT
This tool is similar to Malfrat’s OSINT Map in that it has a whole host of different OSINT tools. The biggest difference is the World Map of OSINT is in presented on a map of the world and each country has a bubble. The bubbles have OSINT tools from that country ranging from people searches to crime records. The China specific ones are limited to mostly “yellow pages” but there is one link that has a huge list of China OSINT tools. Overall the World Map of OSINT is useful for all OSINT research but has more resource for countries other than China.

Newspaper Map
As the name suggests this tool is a map of newspapers grouped in regions of the world. The map looks similar to the “World Map of OSINT”. It’s a very useful resource when looking at current affairs across the globe. Easy to compare how different regions of a country report on the same event. When looking at newspapers in Chinese regions, this is where it falls a bit flat. The Chinese newspapers included are good to use if the links work. Hopefully in the future a better variety of news outlets and working links will be included to the map.

OSINT Chine (Start.me)
The start.me OSINT China page is a well-organized and curated collection of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) resources focused on China. It provides a variety of links to tools, news, and courses, catering to both novice and experienced OSINT practitioners. Regular updates show the page’s commitment to providing current and relevant information. We have found this page extremely useful when conducting our investigations. There are so many useful resources.
